Jewels is a wire figure I built using 14 gauge aluminum wire, hand blown glass and resin beads. She lives in my front yard and during Tropical Storm Irene… a huge branch from a nearby king pine broke off and crashed right next to Jewels. I heard the sound of smashing glass and ran to the front of my house to find Jewels Aok. The branch had taken the top of the telephone pole down along with a large ceramic transformer, which was the cause of the sound of breaking glass. I was soooo relived she wasn’t injured.
